The Aboriginal Independent Newspaper is a Self Determination Project begun
by a group of Nyoongar Aboriginal people in Western Australia. 
                        
The Independent is a subscription-based forum of free speech for
Aboriginal people and therefore reflects the true grass-roots view of
Aboriginal Australia. 

The Aboriginal Independent newspaper is the only privately owned
Aboriginal media in Australia! 
                        
The newspaper is independent of all Government and Government agency
funding. 

                        
The hard copy version is distributed throughout Western Australia, South
Australia, the Northern Territory, and we're working on Queensland where
we've been receiving a high level of interest. 

The newspaper is direct mailed to remote Aboriginal communities within the
distribution area to inform and entertain Aboriginal individuals who
otherwise have little access to current reading matter.

The virtual copy is designed by Millstream in Perth and hosted by II
Net Technologies of Perth.

The Aboriginal Independent is the free press of Aboriginal society.
