The journal has three objectives:

* to promote a comparative prospect, broadened with all religions, and all
cultural influences;

* to support a co-operation of all social sciences to examine the multiple
facets of the religious phenomenon;

* to accommodate methodological and theoretical reflections on the objects
of research.

The changing nature of religious topicality and the globalisation of the
forms of religiosity force more than ever social sciences to question their
disciplinary borders and to put to the test their paradigms of religious
fact.

Archives de Sciences Sociales des Religions publishes alternatively
bibliographical numbers sets of themes and syntheses. It publishes, in
French, English, and Spanish, advanced research articles in this field, from
France and abroad.
