EDITOR'S WELCOME

Welcome to the first edition of Online All the Time, GYMNASIA VIRTUALES's
free bi-monthly newsletter devoted to issues of online education and
training. We're pleased to bring you news of our ever expanding slate of
online courses, and informative bits from the growing community of
learners and educators.

Donna Morgan, a recent GymV participant, suggests that "The learning
potential of online education is tremendous...I would recommend it to
anyone who is willing to dedicate time and effort to personal growth. The
opportunities for learning by doing, developing decision-making skills,
and increasing technological awareness are unlimited!"

We agree and thus we are excited to bring you new courses in everything
from cycling to unix; career management to teaching/learning online; and
gender/communication to writing skills.

Following the GymV Fall line-up, you'll find three feature articles
written by previous participants. First, is an informative and practical
discussion of learning styles in online education, by Maureen
Motter-Hodgson. A. Nadine Burke provides a reflective analysis of her
experiences teaching composition online this past spring. Finally, Laura
Lewis discusses the potential of the WWW in museum education.

We've also included brief sketches of our GymV faculty, and end with an
identification of some sites that online educators might want to visit.

We hope you enjoy this first edition.
