Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) is producer of the world's largest and
most comprehensive databases of chemical information.

The CAS databases, CHEMICAL ABSTRACTS (CA)  and REGISTRY, now include
about 14 million abstracts of chemistry-related and patent literature and
nearly 18 million substances

This past year we added a new substance to the CAS Chemical Registry about
every 9 seconds of the workday, a total of 1,220,000 compounds. We also
added over 700,000 abstracts of chemistry-related journal articles,
patents, and other documents to our CHEMICAL ABSTRACTS (CA) file. 

You can search the CAS databases on the STN International online
network and also via the web using STN Easy. You'll also find some
200 other databases on STN, which CAS operates in collaboration with
FIZ Karlsruhe in Germany and the Japan Science and Technology
Corporation (JST) in Japan, and the contributing database suppliers.

CAS is the producer of the award winning SciFinder software and a
variety of CD-ROM products. Details are available in the Products And
