Cités is a quarterly review which proposes to question from a philosophical
point of view the great transformations of the current society. The journal
endeavours to describe and analyze social, political or economic facts in
all their depth. The magazine tries to reconcile two requirements: the
rigorous work of analysis and clarity of writing, one of its main characters
is a multidisciplinary realism: that which is achieved in the work of the
concept. The deliberation is thus risky in fields in general little attended
by the philosophers.

The structure of the review comprises a issue on a main theme, accompanied
by several regular headings: testimony, debate, main article (heading which
generally accommodates new texts from important authors: Foucault, Lacan,
Leo Strauss, Levinas, Habermas, Derrida, Ricoerur, etc), political lexicon,
analysis of foreign political discourse, profiles of contemporary political
thinkers, portraits of cities or countries, reviews.

Beyond the economic trends, the review is interested in the fundamental
concepts which are called in question or deeply restructured by contemporary
evolutions: capacity, the State, authority, empire, the nation, law,
knowledge, identity, happiness, art, the body, war.
