California Journal of Politics and Policy is an online journal of
original scholarship, innovative research, and serious commentary and
analysis regarding all aspects of California state and local
government, electoral politics, and policy formation and implementation.

Along with an intense focus on topics related directly to California,
the journal explores national and international issues through the
lens of the California experience. We publish comparative work that
contrasts California with national and global trends and attempts to
identify and evaluate California’s unique role as a bellwether in
policy and political developments. Our goal is to relate California to
national and international developments wherever possible.

The journal welcomes submissions of academic articles, as well as
general interest articles, essays, book reviews and commentary. The
journal is divided into three sections: Research Articles, Commentary,
and Book Reviews.
