Publisher: Society for Disability Studies (SDS)

Disability Studies Quarterly (DSQ) is the journal of the Society for
Disability Studies (SDS). It is a multidisciplinary and international
journal of interest to social scientists, scholars in the humanities,
disability rights advocates, creative writers, and others concerned with
the issues of people with disabilities.

It represents the full range of methods, epistemologies, perspectives,
and content that the multidisciplinary field of disability studies
embraces. DSQ is committed to developing theoretical and practical
knowledge about disability and to promoting the full and equal
participation of persons with disabilities in society.

DSQ offers both peer-reviewed and non-peer-reviewed articles, in general
and theme sections. All peer-reviewed articles must meet the highest and
most rigorous standards within their larger academic discipline and are
anonymously reviewed by at least two scholars in the field.
Non-peer-reviewed materials can be commentary, essay,
research-in-progress, or pilot studies on some topic relevant to the
field of disability studies. All non-peer-reviewed materials will be
reviewed for quality and appropriateness and are not guaranteed publication.

Poetry or fiction with disability themes and issues should be sent
directly to the DSQ Poetry/Fiction Editor, whose email is below. Work in
this area will be peer reviewed by scholars and writers working with
disability in the fields of cultural studies, humanities, and/or
creative writing.

Anyone who would like to propose a theme section should contact the DSQ
Co-Editors. Please indicate whether the section will contain
peer-reviewed articles, non-peer-reviewed articles, or both. The editors
retain the right of refusal for any article in a theme section.
