Publisher: Danish Society for Central Asia

The Danish Society for Central Asia was created after a founding assembly
met on March 3, 2005. The Society is a non-profit, non-governmental
organization aimed at promoting the interest in, research on, and knowledge
of Central Asia in its broadest sense.

Topics covered by the Societyıs scope includes the history, language,
culture, religion, art, music, architecture, economy, geography, nature, and
environment of Central Asia, as well as contemporary social, political,
security, and ethnic issues.

The area covered by the Society primarily includes the countries
Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and
Uzbekistan; the province Xinjiang of China; and the northern provinces of
Pakistan. Secondarily, the Society can also engage in activities focusing on
areas adjacent to Central Asia.

It is a stated goal of the Danish Society for Central Asia not to be an
elitist, academic endeavor, but rather to reach out and beyond university
circles, attracting both interest and contributions from non-scholars. Due
to this, and taking the varied readership into consideration, the Editorial
Board has decided to concentrate on topics of broad interest, and generally
welcome accessible articles with a language that can be understood by most
Central Asia enthusiasts. Further in line with the statutes of our Society,
the focus of this Journal will not be limited to a specific period in time,
but can cover Pre-Historic, Ancient, Medieval, and Modern periods.

Articles for the journal should preferably contain no more than 3.000 words,
although the Editorial Board will consider longer articles as well. The
article should be written in English, Danish, Swedish, or Norwegian. If
possible, articles in the Scandinavian languages should be accompanied by an
English abstract no more than 15 lines.
