Desenvolvimento e Meio Ambiente publishes quality articles on local,
national and international social issues. It takes an interdisciplinary 
perspective, the central focus of the journal is, therefore, the discussion 
of issues that fall at the intersection between society and nature.

Addressing issues of social interface requires the authors to take a
multidimensional and comprehensive vision resulting in a fruitful dialogue
between different fields of scientific knowledge.  Articles that are purely
technical or discipline will not be accepted, regardless of the assessment
of their quality.
