The Endocrine Society (ES) is pleased to announce that its journal
Endocrine Reviews is now available with a new site design and new site
features as part of Endocrine Society Journals Online.
Coming soon, faster access for readers in Europe and Asia
at
http://intl.endojournals.org
(Link inactive 23 September 2004)
Endocrine Reviews (EDRV) (http://edrv.endojournals.org/) publishes
bimonthly comprehensive, authoritative, and timely review articles
balancing both experimental and clinical endocrinology themes and
crystallizing the most significant clinical experience and current
research in endocrinology and related areas such as cell biology,
immunology, pharmacology, genetics, molecular biology, neuroscience,
reproductive medicine, and pediatric endocrinology. EDRV online contains
the full content of each issue of the journal beginning with the February,
1997 issue (Volume 18, Issue 1). Abstracts are online beginning with the
August, 1989 issue (Volume 2, Issue 3), and Tables of Contents are
available beginning with the February, 1980 issue (Volume 1, Issue 1).
Key features of the journal online include: browsing the archives, keyword
searching, links to abstracts and related articles in Medline and to the
online full text of many other frequently-cited journals.
Each issue will be placed online approximately on the date it is mailed to
subscribers; therefore the online sites will be available prior to receipt
of your paper copies. Online readers may want to sign up for the eTOC
(electronic Table of Contents) service, which will deliver each new
issue's table of contents and special announcements from the Society via
email. The web site also provides access to information about the
journals (such as Instructions to Authors, the Editorial Board, and
subscription information), as well as access to the ES web site and to the
other ES journals.
There is currently open access to the journal during the grace period
which ends November 30, 2000. Subsequent to the grace period, access to
the full text of articles will be available by institutional license,
which comes with all institutional subscriptions, or by individual
subscription available to print subscribers or Society members. All other
access (e.g., to Abstracts, eTOCSs, searching, Instructions to Authors)
will remain freely available.
We very much encourage you to sign the guestbook on your first visit to
these sites. This will take only a minute or two, and will provide us
with helpful information about who the online readers are and how they are
connecting to the sites. In addition, we would appreciate comments,
critiques, questions, or suggestions from you; these can be sent via the
Feedback link found on all pages of each site. Feedback from readers will
help us decide what new features would be most valuable for the sites and
how well they are working for their readers.
The site is being produced in conjunction with Stanford University's
HighWire Press, which also works with other medical and research journals,
including these frequently-cited journals: Journal of Biological
Chemistry, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Science, and
the American Journal of Physiology. You may find a list of online medical
and research journals and their URLs at
http://highwire.stanford.edu or
http://intl.highwire.org
A list of publications available from the Endocrine Society is available
at

(Please forward this information to your colleagues who may be interested
in the The Endocrine Society's journals.)
