Film & History is concerned with the impact of motion pictures on our
society. Also, unlike many other journals, Film & History focuses on how
feature films and documentary films both represent and interpret history.

Film & History often contains the following types of articles:

* Analysis of individual films and/or television programs from a historical
perspective (viewing the films/programs as historical artifacts)
* Survey of documents related to the production of films (how films move
from initial ideas to the finished screen version)
* Analysis of history as explored through film (using film critically in the
classroom)

The editors are seeking manuscripts addressing the following topics:

* Effective use of moving images in the history/social studies classroom.
* Analysis of the history, holdings, and political and financial status of
various film and television archives around the country.
* Use of new ways of presenting history in film productions.
* Specific analysis of a single film, or genre, combining use of the latest
scholarship, including primary sources, especially film archival
collections.
* Reviews of books and video/films and broadcasts addressing particular
important themes.
