Family Matters is the research journal of the Australian Institute of Family
Studies - the principal means by which the Australian and international
community is informed about Institute and other family-related research.

It reports on the research and related activities of the Institute, as well
as on the work of other Australian and overseas family researchers and
organisations.

Family Matters aims to present contemporary research and debate on issues
affecting families to a wide readership which goes beyond narrow academic
and professional specialists. It seeks to promote high standards of
reporting and good quality writing in a style of presentation that will
reach an "informed lay public", the academic community and appeal to a broad
cross-section of readers with interests in family-related research, policies
and programs.
