The intent of the JOURNAL is to offer readers a refereed forum for the
discussion of all aspects of continuing education practice--made
possible by an outstanding Editorial Board and reviewers.

As an electronic journal, we will suffer a few growing pains as the
technology improves before we do. This first issue is being sent via
e-mail. Shortly, we also hope to have the journal accessible on the
World Wide Web.

We invite your response to articles, and to the electronic nature of the
JOURNAL. For two weeks following publication, we will "open the lines"
for discussion and comments. You can take part in the discussion by
sending your comments to us at

     CONTED@max.cc.uregina.ca

and note the subject is "comments". We will forward these to all
subscribers for two weeks with the subject heading COMMENTS. If you do
not wish to read them, the subject heading in your mail lists will let
you know you are not missing an issue of the JOURNAL.

This issue focuses on an article by Terry Anderson from Canada who
describes the perceptions of learners enrolled in continuing
professional education programs at a distance. The next issue of the
Journal will be published in the Fall.

We encourage you to submit your work to the JOURNAL, or to discuss your
ideas with us. You can request the author's guidelines by sending a
message to us at CONTED@max.cc.uregina.ca.
