This journal is an appropriate expert system [that] can do much to
improve efficiency and quality across all types of organisations and in
all branches of industry, commerce, the professions, education and
government. The International Journal of Applied Expert Systems reports
upon successful expert systems in a way that will enable those working
in other areas, and in other countries, to attempt similar approaches
and techniques in response to their own problems.
Submissions are invited from practitioners and developers in all fields,
and especially from those working in areas where few if any expert
systems have been created, thereby offering guidance to individuals,
firms and organisations who previously have not considered this
technology, or who have experienced problems with it in the past. A
primary goal of the journal is to alert developers to the difficulties
that may lie ahead, and articles may therefore report not only
successful cases of expert systems development, but also those where
failure has occurred.
Available on the WWW site: abstracts and some limited full-text (e.g.,
editorials). The International Journal of Applied Expert Systems is
published three times a year. Subscription price for Volume 2, 1994 to
include postage and handling: BP60.00/US$117.00. Copies are sent by
surface mail. All subscription orders, back issues advertising and
other enquiries should be sent to:
