Informatics: The Journal of Informatics in Primary Care

http://www.ncl.ac.uk/~nphcare/PHCSG/Journal/index.htm

This journal focuses on health care, especially the active role
technical information has in the health care system. Articles and
commentaries are in their full text or presented here as extended
abstracts.

The Primary Health Care Specialist Group is one of the Specialist Groups
of the British Computer Society.

The British Computer Society is incorporated by Royal Charter as the
Professional Institution for Information Systems Engineering and is a
chartered engineering institution. It represents over 34,000 computer
practitioners, more than any other comparable society in Europe.

As with all professional bodies, the BCS is concerned with maintaining
and improving technical and ethical standards for the benefit of its
members and society at large.

It is an authoritative voice to society, government and industry on all
aspects of IT. It influences education through its own examinations, by
accrediting degree and diploma courses, and by the planned training and
career structure of its Professional Development Scheme. The Society
also has influence on legislation, provides experts for International
Standards Committees and expert witnesses for courts and tribunals.
