This electronic version of the print journal of the same name is published
on the web by Springer-Verlag Berlin. It seeks to provide a medium for the
communication and exchange of current work and ideas in this field. It is
intended for all involved in intensive medical care, physicians,
anaesthetists, surgeons, pediatricians, and all concerned with the
pre-clinical subjects and medical sciences basic to these disciplines. 

It publishes:

          1.Review articles reflecting the present state of knowledge in
		special areas or summarizing limited themes in which discussion
		has led to clearly defined conclusions
          2.Original papers reporting progress and results in all areas 
		of intensive care medicine and its related fields 
          3.Educational articles giving information on the progress of a 
		topic of particular interest 
          4.Discussion on technology, methods, new apparatus and 
		modifications of standard techniques 
          5.Brief reports of uncommon and interesting disorders 
          6.Correspondence concerning matters of topical interest or 
		relating to published material 
          7.Book reviews 
          8.Reports of meetings 
          9.Announcements

Articles are published in Adobe Acrobat portable document format and are
available to subscribers using a password provided by the publisher. No
password is required to view the article abstracts, which are published
in html format.

-North America. Recommended subscription rate: approx. US $ 690.00, single
 issue price US $88.00 including carriage charges. Subscriptions are
 entered with prepayment only. 
-All other countries. Recommended annual subscription rate: DM 898.00 plus
 carriage charges.
