The IAVI Report is the world's only publication devoted exclusively to HIV
vaccine research and development. The first issue of the newsletter was
distributed at the 11th International Conference on AIDS in Vancouver in
June 1996.
Today, the IAVI Report is published bi-monthly and distributed free to over
8,500 subscribers in 125 countries. Each edition is posted on IAVI's website
and articles have been reprinted in a wide number of publications. The
newsletter is also translated into French (in cooperation with the Mérieux
Foundation); a Spanish language version is also planned.
The purpose of the IAVI Report is:
- to provide accurate, up-to-date information about ongoing AIDS vaccine
research and development to scientists
- government and public health officials, industry leaders, health providers
and people in affected communities worldwide
- to focus attention on under-explored opportunities and potential barriers
to HIV vaccine development
- to help educate affected communities and constituent groups about the need
for an HIV vaccine and the mission of IAVI
- to increase awareness and support for HIV vaccine development in both
industrial and developing countries
Full-text articles are available in HTML format.
