Aims and Scope:
The purpose of the International Journal of Smart
Engineering System Design is to provide the international
research community a medium for exchanging scientific
research and technological developments in smart
engineering system design. The research presented focuses
on building 'smart' components to engineering systems
currently available. The term 'smart' in this context
indicates physical systems that can interact with their
environment and adapt to changes in both space and time by
their ability to manipulate the environment through self
awareness and perceived models of the world based on both
quantitative and qualitative information.
Emerging technologies such as artificial neural networks,
fuzzy logic, evolutionary programming, chaos, wavelets,
fractals, complex systems, and virtual reality form the
basis of Smart Engineering System Design. It is the intent
of the journal to publish archival papers that describe
models which integrate and/or enhance these technologies
for building smart engineering systems, and to illustrate
the real life application of the model with numerical
results. The journal will publish articles that review
current trends and short papers that will provide rapid
communication among its audience in the form of technical
notes and letters to the editor.
The journal will provide innovative solutions to smart
engineering system design and operation and it will cut
across various disciplines in engineering (namely,
mechanical, industrial, electrical, computer, bio-medical,
civil, environmental, aeronautical, chemical, mining,
ceramic) and other related fields such as medicine,
biology, applied mathematics, and optics.
