Publisher: The American Association for Health Education

The First Web-Based Peer-Reviewed Journal in Health Education,
Promotion, and Behavior

The IEJHE went on-line officially on December 31, 1997 with a complete
text of articles ranging from research to theory-based manuscripts. In
addition, the IEJHE will maintain a series of interviews with legends in
the field of health education, promotion, and behavior.

Whereas many health-related journals have web-pages, the IEJHE is the
first to have complete text, in a peer-reviewed component, that is
available on the Internet. To access the journal, one must subscribe and
receive personalized userids and passwords. Besides having access to the
present issue, subscribers will also have access to all previous issues.

For the first three years, articles were released on a quarterly basis,
with January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1 as the release dates. All
manuscripts must be sent electronically, and all reviews and
correspondence back to authors are also sent electronically. In addition
to having the articles appear in a hypertext format, all articles can be
downloaded in .pdf format.

Starting January 1, 2001, the IEJHE is an 'open volume.' What this means
is that once a manuscript is accepted it will appear on-line within one
week. No other health education journal in the world can boast this type
of turnaround from submission to publication.

Online content is free through Open Access.
