IMIESA is the official journal of the Institution of Municipal Engineering 
of Southern Africa. The journal works together with the institution to 
contribute to its goals and mission and thus facilitates the promotion of 
a holistic approach to the development of public sector engineering to the 
benefit of its members and the entire community. The focus is on the 
provision of infrastructure and public facilities, including cost-effective 
systems and materials. These are linked to water and environmental 
management, as well as construction, housing, roads and stormwater issues. 
Much attention is given to strategies, legislation, case studies, new 
developments and trends.
