The Indian Journal of Tuberculosis is the official publication of the 
Tuberculosis Association of India. It completed 50 years of its 
publication in 2003. It has a wide circulation among tuberculosis 
workers, (doctors as well as post-graduate students), medical and public 
health institutions in the country and also has numerous subscribers 
abroad. WHO also subscribes to the Journal for distribution to its 
various organizations.

The Journal contains scientific articles of high quality contributed by 
authors from all over the world, specially India. Subjects covered 
include clinical, epidemiological, public health and social aspects of 
tuberculosis. It also includes interesting case reports on patients 
suffering from pulmonary, extra-pulmonary tuberculosis as well as other 
respiratory diseases. In recent years it has also published several 
articles on HIV and AIDS, since these conditions have important 
relationship with tuberculosis.

The Journal also has features like Forum (where readers and authors can 
exchange their views on published articles), important news and events 
related to the field of tuberculosis, abstracts of interesting articles 
published in other reputed Journals, contemporary issues (information 
relating to recent developments in the field of medicine and public 
health, especially tuberculosis and associated chest diseases), book 
review of recently published books related to the subject, Leaves from 
History (which contains historical information about TB Institutions and 
TB workers).
