As a declared nuclear-weapons power with a burgeoning market economy, India
is a pivotal state in world politics. It contains a breadth of political,
social, cultural, religious, and economic diversity, and yet had sustained a
democratic political order in the face of considerable obstacles. Modern
India has faced virtually every challenge that confronts humanity and has
produced many creative solutions to these challenges as well.

India Review is a quarterly refereed journal that will publish scholarly
research on the issues central to Indian politics, economics and society. It
will combine theoretical rigor, substance knowledge, and policy relevance,
and serve as a serious academic forum for understanding contemporary and
historical developments in India.
