International Journal of Peace Studies
http://www.gmu.edu/academic/ijps/
Publisher: Formosa College in association with Commissions of the
International Peace Research Association
The Journal promotes discussion about various issues in peace
research, including but not limited to, alternative security systems,
justice and basic human needs, indigenization of social knowledge,
cultural survival for indigenous people, discourse on peace and war,
human security, nonviolent social change, peace movements,
sustainable development, grassroots movements in the Third World and
the emergence of an informal political process, ecofeminism, global
environmental policies, human rights, self-determination, economic
equity, conflict resolution, disarmament, critical pedagogy, peace
education, participatory research, feminist critique of the world
order, and poststructuralist theories.
This journal is dedicated to enhancing alternative discourse on a
wide range of theoretical issues in peace research and improving our
knowledge in the quest for peace. In addition, it wishes to address
strategies to deal with local, regional, or global problems. For this
purpose, we attempt to link researchers and peace workers in various
countries. It also promotes the dialogue between peace research and
policy making communities.
International Journal of Peace Studies is published twice a year by
Formosa College in association with Commissions of the International
Peace Research Association.
Authors are encouraged to consider the theoretical and empirical
implications of their research in a wider context of solving human
problems. We are also interested in policy oriented papers which
offer alternative strategies. Though we occasionally accept shorter
manuscripts, the ideal length is 30-40 pages double spaced.
