International Rice Research Notes (IRRN)
International Rice Research Notes (IRRN)
http://www.irri.org/publications/irrn/index.asp
Publisher: International Rice Research Institute
IRRN has expedited communication among scientists concerned with development
of improved technology for rice and rice-based cropping systems.
The IRRN is a mechanism to help scientists keep each other informed of
current rice research findings. The concise scientific notes are meant to
encourage rice scientists to communicate with one another to obtain details
on the research reported.
IRRN welcomes three types of submitted manuscripts: research notes, mini
reviews, and ³notes from the field.² All manuscripts must have international
or pan-national relevance to rice science or production, be written in
English, and be an original work of the author(s), and must not have been
previously published elsewhere.
The International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) is an autonomous, nonprofit
agricultural research and training organization with offices in more than
ten nations. The Instituteıs main goal is to find sustainable ways to
improve the well-being of present and future generations of poor rice
farmers and consumers while at the same time protecting the environment.
Most of IRRIıs research is done in cooperation with national agricultural
research and development institutions, farming communities, and other
organizations of the worldıs rice- producing nations.
IRRI was established in 1960 by the Ford and Rockefeller foundations in
cooperation with the government of the Philippines. Its research activities
began in 1962 and are now estimated to have touched the lives of almost half
the worldıs population.
