Publisher: John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
The International Journal of Medical Robotics and Computer Assisted Surgery
provides a cross-disciplinary platform for presenting the latest
developments in robotics and related technologies for medical applications.
In the past few years robots have begun to be used in surgery on a regular
basis, and advances in visualisation and operative planning tools are set to
revolutionise the way in which medical interventions are performed. The
journal aims to foster a community that encompasses medical practitioners,
researchers and commercial manufacturers, with the intention that this will
assist in the promotion and further development of these exciting areas of
technology.
Although primarily aimed at medical practitioners the coverage is of a
highly practical nature and presented in a form that makes it accessible to
all subscribers. The journal has been founded by individuals with many years
experience in both general surgery, medical robotics, virtual reality and a
wide range of sensor technologies. The quality and relevance of the content
is assured by an international Editorial Advisory Board of leading experts
covering the full scope of the journal.
The journal is available in both hard copy and on-line. The website also
includes a large and continuously updated database of research activities
and commercial products, with links to the source organisations.
