Incorporating Short Book Reviews
International Statistical Review publishes peer-reviewed papers of an
expository, review, or tutorial nature across the whole spectrum of the
statistical profession including the most relevant aspects of probability.
Papers in the International Statistical Review include original research of
wide interest, integrated critical surveys of particular fields of
statistics and probability, and reports on recent developments in
statistics.
The scope of the International Statistical Review is extremely broad,
including mathematical and theoretical statistics and probability,
computational statistics, statistics as applied in the physical, biological,
medical and environmental sciences, industrial statistics, insights into the
history of statistics as well as the teaching of statistics, official and
governmental statistics and public policy, demography and population
studies, banking and finances, statistics in the social sciences, survey
statistics, amongst others.
International Statistical Review has two editors, from differing statistical
backgrounds, in order to demonstrate the journal's commitment to, and wide
interpretation of, the broad field of statistics.
As the flagship journal of the International Statistical Institute and its
constituent Sections, International Statistical Review has a wide
international readership and appeals to non-specialists while being
stimulating and interesting to experts.
