Informatics in Education emphasizes theoretical, experimental and methodological studies in the fields of informatics and educational technology.
Multidisciplinary research studies that enhance our understanding of how theoretical and technological innovations translate into educational practice are most welcome. We are particularly interested in work at boundaries, both the boundaries of informatics and education. The journal aims at providing an interdisciplinary forum for researchers, educators, policy makers, and users involved in different areas of informatics science education.
The main topics of interest of the journal include:
* research on informatics science education,
* methodology of teaching and learning programming,
* applied informatics in education,
* technology-enhanced pedagogical innovations,
* new generation learning technologies,
* informatics for the humanities and social inclusion,
* educational software and content,
* open source and social software in education,
* advanced research methods in the field of educational technology.
Research can involve various stages and contexts of informatics and information technology education, including: pre-school, school, higher education, informal, continuous and organisational settings. It can address individual, collaborative, organisational or system's learning.
