Publisher: Canadian Association for Distance Education

The Journal of Distance Education is an international publication of the 
Canadian Association for Distance Education (CADE). Its aims are to 
promote and encourage Canadian research and scholarly work in distance 
education and provide a forum for the dissemination of international 
scholarship. Original material is published in either English or French.

The Journal contains material in three broad categories:

    1. Scholarly articles and research papers that focus on issues 
related to distance education;
    2. Reports that highlight unique solutions to critical problems, 
short descriptions of work underlying new or innovative programs or 
contemporary events, and brief notes on research in progress; and
    3. Dialogues devoted to the discussion or debate of issues in 
distance education that may arouse controversy. Also included here will 
be papers written in reply to articles published in earlier issues of 
the Journal.

Two issues a year (Spring and Fall) are published in book form and 
mailed to subscribers. An electronic text of the current issue is posted 
on this web site about one month after its paper publication date.
