Publisher: Haworth Press
This peer-reviewed professional journal studies the growing elderly
population from the standpoint of nutrition?the single most important
environmental determinant of health. It comprehensively examines the role of
nutrition in disease prevention and management, functional performance, and
overall quality of life for the elderly. It also provides useful information
to aid in developing and assessing nutrition education programs for older
adults. The Journal of Nutrition for the Elderly is designed to provide
³one-stop shopping² for current research on a variety of cutting-edge topics
and methods for applying the results of that research and best practice
techniques in home and community settings.
The journal includes client education suggestions and covers essential
aspects of nutrition, from the clinical correlation between the
pathophysiology of diseases and the role of nutrition to the psychosocial
aspects of eating. In addition to scholarly studies, it also highlights
evidence-based interventions for use in community settings.
