Publisher: Institut Pierre Janet

Janetian Studies is the international Journal of the Institut Pierre Janet,
and welcomes contributions about the life and work of Pierre Janet (1859
1947).

With the great variety of his preoccupations, Pierre Janet addressed many
topics that today still question experimental research and humanities,
psychiatry, sociology, philosophy : Janetian Studies hence stands as the
first journal to gather the formerly scattered janetian contributions to
these current programs.

But the most distinctive aspect of Janetian Studies derives from Pierre
Janet¹s specialty, dynamic psychology. This research discipline, which was
in his time a useful complement of cognitive and social psychology, died
within the research laboratories with his most prominent representative :
Janetian Studies becomes then the first review by and for researchers in
experimental psychology, to renew dynamic psychology and show its potential
in the interpretation of recently published social and cognitive
experiments, as well as to propose new experiments with a dynamic approach.

Since 2006, the support of the Société Française de Psychologie is most
promising for the renewal of dynamic psychology into experimental research.
But needless to say that Janetian Studies and the Institut Pierre Janet
still strongly expect the support of any researcher or other individual
interested by these goals.
