Postgraduate Medicine Online
http://www.postgradmed.com/
Postgraduate Medicine Online is an electronic version of the print journal
of the same title. For 50 years, physicians have turned to Postgraduate
Medicine for information on current medical practices--reliable
information they can read and use immediately. The founding
editor-in-chief, Charles W. Mayo, set out to produce "an authoritative,
diversified, stimulating medical journal of which American medicine will
be proud." His vision has materialized into one of the leading medical
journals in the United States, providing problem-solving, peer-reviewed
clinical information to about 130,000 primary care physicians each month.
Each online issue during this Golden Anniversary year brings you selected
easy-to-read articles on the medical conditions primary care physicians
tell us they want to read about, plus a special feature that traces 50
years of progress in an important area of medicine. Also included are
several popular departments from the current journal. Separate pages in
the site hold past articles and departments for you to peruse and search.
On the lighter side, we've scattered some amusing, nostalgic, or
surprising snippets from the past throughout the site. Please join us
often as we celebrate five decades of vitality and success.
Index issues are published in June and December of each year. Articles
published are peer-reviewed and are regularly indexed by Index Medicus
and by the MEDLARS service of the National Library of Medicine.
In an effort to provide information that is scientifically accurate and
consistent with accepted standards of medical practice, the editors and
publisher of Postgraduate Medicine routinely consult sources believed
to be reliable. However, readers are encouraged to confirm this
information with other sources. For example and in particular, physicians
are advised to consult the prescribing information in the manufacturer's
package insert before prescribing any drug mentioned.
