Publisher: SAGE Publications

Former Title: Vascular Surgery

As the practice of vascular surgeons evolves, so must Vascular Surgery
change to meet the needs of its readership. By changing the journal's name
to Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, the editors reaffirm their commitment
to communicating important advances in vascular disease, diagnostics, and
treatment.

Vascular surgery is a distinct specialty composed of surgeons uniquely
trained to provide medical and surgical vascular treatment - including the
newer, less invasive endovascular techniques used for peripheral and
cerebrovascular conditions. Endovascular interventions are commonplace in
vascular surgery today, and the scientific forum provided by this journal
must reflect the practicing vascular surgeon's scope of practice, provide
guidance to further enhance patient care, and promote research.

During the past year, one third of the articles published in the journal
dealt with minimally invasive or an endovascular intervention, increased
from 15% of articles the prior year. This trend will likely continue.

With the change in name to Vascular and Endovascular Surgery the reader can
expect new enhancements to the journal, including a Basic Science Review
section edited by Dr Vivian Gahtan of Yale University an Endovascular
Techniques section, and a clinical feature presenting "Images in Vascular
Surgery." All physicians and scientists engaged in endovascular techniques
and technology are encouraged to participate by submission of original
contributions, reviews, or case reports.

The goal of the journal is to provide interesting, timely, and provocative
peer-reviewed articles that are relevant to the practice of vascular
surgery.
