The purpose of this journal is to enrich Stanford student life by creating a
needed outlet for dedicated students to share their interests in Slavic
Studies and to foster an interest among other students for further academic
engagement in Russia, Eastern Europe and Eurasia.

Zhe: Stanford's Student Journal of Russian, East European and Eurasian
Studies is created to enable students to publish their academic works
related to this region of the world and to promote university-wide
recognition of Stanford students' commitment to scholarship in the area.

The journal is interdisciplinary in nature - including the humanities and
social sciences - in order to incorporate the interests of different student
communities into the publication and to mobilize interest and participation.

Zhe Journal publishes outstanding academic work from undergraduates and
one-year coterminal and Masters Degree students at Stanford University.
